Learn more about Métis in BC!

The Métis are one of the three Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Distinct Métis communities formed across what would become British Columbia when First Nations and European ancestry first mixed. Métis were once an integral part of life in the Pacific Northwest but systemic anti-Métis racism and discrimination has largely erased mixed-ancestry history and memory in BC.
